420 has always been a holiday I’ve been feverishly looking forward to for the last 10 years. My first 420 celebration was one to remember, consuming cannabis nearly for the first time in the CU-Boulder Quad before those types of free-flowing celebrations got shut down. Ever since then I’ve been consuming cannabis nearly daily as part of my health and wellness routine. I’d guess you could say celebrating 420 for me is a nod at my youth, it takes me back to those carefree college days where life was much simpler which is why I look forward to 420 every year.
Last year, the year where 420 was all month long (hello April 2020), we all know what happened. COVID shut down all of the in-person events and those well-known smoke friendly events of puff-puff-pass ceased to exist. Instead we all sat around our computers, TV’s and phones watching various live streaming events. While it wasn’t even close to the same, we made the best of it.
This year is panning out to be similar in nature with a few in-person events sprinkled throughout Denver. If you are looking for something to do this year check out our 420 Guide to Virtual Events, Ganja Yoga and more.

Other Fun Activities
Taco Tuesday
While there isn’t an official event for this, let’s face it stoners get the munchies especially after a full day of smoking. Coincidentally 420 lands on Tuesday which makes it the perfect excuse to indulge in some tacos. There are plenty of traditional taco joints on Federal Blvd to try out or you can try out some more mainstream places like Illegal Petes, Torchy’s Tacos, and Tacos Tequila Whiskey to name a few.
Smoke & Listen
If socializing and events aren’t your thing you could also roll up a fat one and chill on the couch listening to the latest season of Lit & Lucid Podcast that just debuted featuring another well-known podcast duo, Weed & Grub. Float off into space and immerse yourself in some educational material for a change of pace. Find them on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and beyond.
