As I continue on my own CBD challenge I had asked my mom to start using CBD for her chronic pain and auto immune issues. For the last five years she has been a medical mystery with no actual diagnosis for a variety of health issues. She has chronic pain in her back and potentially an auto-immune disease despite never testing positive. Doctors and specialists have been unable to diagnose her conditions and she has found little to no resolution through prescription drugs.
She has been on countless rounds of steroids to help with lung problems. She takes many other medications from Xanax for anxiety to Vicodin for pain. Recently she weened herself off of the Xanax, but struggles to keep a calm mind at all times. She is in a high stress job and often times comes home feeling very depleted from the day with minimal energy. She has turned to Vicodin to numb the various pains in her back and knees as the result of early stages of arthritis.
Countless tests and hundreds of thousands of dollars later she is no closer to a resolution than she was five years ago in the hospital with a life threatening lung condition that was never diagnosed. Presently I am offering her the idea of using CBD to help bring her body back into sync. Clearly there is something amidst in her body and it desperately needs assistance to bring it back to a healthy working state.
She is going to use CBD daily as part of her regime with hopes of getting rid of some of the medication she is taking. Hopefully by using micro doses of CBD and mindfulness exercises such as meditation and gentle yoga she will see results she has desperately been seeking. With research coming out that cannabis is the cure for many ailments that creates a threat to the medical community and prescription drug companies.
If people start to use cannabis instead of prescription pills that’s a problem for these large companies that make a living off sick people. The worry is that if our nation switches from pills to plant the federal government may take a stance to control the industry such as what we saw with agriculture and GMO’s which threatens the integrity of the plant and it’s medicinal benefits. Ensuring that cannabis continues to be regulates by the states is vital to the health of our nation.
