On Saturday August 19, 2017 Weedbar LA hosted Chai Havdalah, a Jewish-based cannabis infused celebration in Denver, CO.

Chai Havdalah debuted in Los Angeles last month by founder Catherine Golderberg inspired by her Jewish culture and traditions. Catherine figured there was no better way to celebrate the end of Sabbath than by throwing a cannabis infused dinner party!

This month Chai Havdalah made its way to Denver where the party kicked off at The Herban Space in Denver’s historic Broadway District.

The Food

The event was catered by Amanda Glucklich a Denver based foodie and canna-caterer specializing in Jewish cuisine.

Rosenberg’s Deli, a local Five Points delicatesin taking inspiration from New York’s classic food scene provided freshly made bagels and lox.

Chai Havdalah DenverExtra goodies for the bagels included Stillwater Brands Ripple dissolvable THC infused cream cheese, capers, tomatoes, cucumbers, and fresh greens. Binske infused lemon olive oil was also mixed into the salad dressing for an extra boost. Participants were encouraged to make their own bagel sandwiches with as much or as little infusion as they liked!

Dessert was infused with Binske chocolate in the sour cream coffee cake as well as to-die-for infused wildflower honey butter to accompany the Challah bread.

Challah is a traditional Jewish bread that is typically eaten during the Sabbath celebration. Breaking bread with one another was a great way to feel a part of this Jewish tradition.

 The Experience

Chai Havdalah included relaxing live music, LED hula dancers, plenty of laughs, and an overall good time.

DipStick was at the event promoting their vape pen which is great for on-the-go users as it eliminates the need for a blow torch and other equipment when vaping. This was my first time experiencing the product and I really enjoyed the simplicity and modern take on traditional dabbing.

Top Shelf Budtending provided a high quality bud tending experience to the participants. If you’ve never experienced a bud bar imagine walking up to a bar and ordering a shot, but instead of alcohol the bar only supplied weed.

Andrew Mieure, owner of Top Shelf Budtending has set out to make cannabis consumption the norm. Top Shelf Budtending is devoted to providing a classy, upscale cannabis consumption experience.

Top Shelf offered a variety of high quality flower from Willy’s Reserve in which you could chose from. Once you picked your strain

chai havdalah DenverAndrew asked your consumption level, educated the user on the various strains, and provided an appropriate dosage for consumption.  The user then got to pick how to consume the flower whether it was through a a few hits out of a vaporizer or passed around in a Volcano bag as a group.

Top Shelf Budtending is focused on providing a classy, yet controlled way to consume marjiuana in a private setting. Top Shelf Budtending aims to educate its users on cannabis in order to provide safe consumption no matter one’s tolerance level.

Ending the Night

After spending a few hours at Chai Havdalah I was feeling very relaxed and generally elated. I had an even high regulating throughout the body while still feeling clear in the mind. The effects of the edibles were more subtle than the flower consumption, but combined they created a very calming affect.

Leaving the venue I hit up Sweet Action, a local ice cream eatery, and boy did that ice cream taste good. Nothing like a late night munchie to wrap up an amazing night.

Chai Havdalah Denver was a huge success from the food, to the cannabis, to the company. WeedBarLA showed up in Denver offering a unique experience to cannabis advocates. With each positive cannabis event we can continue to break down barriers in the industry and work towards full legalization and acceptance of the plant in the future.
