Day 4 of the CBD Challenge. Woke up feeling refreshed and ready to tackle the day, isn’t that how it always goes as we get towards the end of the week? This morning I felt myself being more aware of my body and more focused on the breathe. Utilizing yoga and meditation is important while medicating with a CBD tincture. CBD isn’t a miracle drug (well it might be), but you have to help your body help itself.

Just like when you go to the gym you aren’t going to get bigger and stronger unless you take steps daily to work towards your goals – same with the mind. The mind needs to be trained daily in order to see results. We aren’t just going to be enlightened tomorrow. The monks spend their entire lives working towards enlightenment spending hours in seated meditation and extensive yoga practices.

Your mind is a muscle and has to be trained and strengthened the same way. Daily practice of mindfulness even for a few minutes is beneficial. Training your mind to focus on the breath before you react in stressful situations could be a game changer. We aren’t perfect and it isn’t going to always happen, but if we remain conscious and make the effort daily that’s better than taking no action.

Meditation doesn’t have to be a seated meditation of complete silence either. Meditation is whatever you can do to help bring your mind to a higher consciousness. For example, using chanting or dancing are great ways to meditate without the agony of sitting cross legged for 30 minutes in silence. Do what works for you, don’t stress the process. Just be  in the present moment and accept where you are at passing no judgement on yourself.

Adding CBD into your daily life should be considered a supplement to mind body health.
