Pre-Smoke – Ganja Yoga Denver
Shelly Jenkins, founding yogini of Twisted Sisters offers a ganja yoga class at the Denver Consulting Group . Friday night’s Ganja Yoga class was an intimate gathering of like-minded yogis ready to unwind after a long week. Students were invited to come early to partake in consumption before class and mingle with each other.
There were students from Washington, D.C. who had never toked before, as well as
The Class – Ganja Yoga

As soon as class started I began to drop into my body on my mat. No longer did it matter who was around me or what I had to do after class, instead I was focused solely on my mind and body movement. Moving the spine up and down in cat-cow feeling each of the vertebrae extend while on all fours. Lifting the neck to the sky and dropping towards the low belly on the exhale. For the first twenty minutes on my mat I felt deeply connected to the mind-body-spirit experience.
How does cannabis affect your yoga flow?
Cannaflow
The class itself was challenging moving through lunges, Warrior II, and a balancing series. The cannabis in my system allowed me release any inhibitions and pre-convieced notions about the poses before moving into them. I was able to plant my feet firmly on the ground and root into poses with the strength of a goddess.
The class was a perfect mix between powerful poses embracing the vibrant sun energy as well as juicy stretches and slower movements mimicking the moon energy.
For anyone interested in incorporating cannabis into their yoga practice Shelly’s Ganja Yoga is a great place to start. Offering a warm and welcoming environment as well as a class suitable for all levels this is one of my favorite ganja practices.
