Starting Greenlove Denver in April 2017 I couldn’t imagine most of the amazing things I got to experience this year! I started the blog as an outlet to express myself, be creative, and use my voice to shine light on the positive experiences cannabis users were having in today’s world. 

I had the opportunity to work with countless passionate companies working towards similar goals, create a “Lit Yogi” line of clothing that is becoming more popular, and now host a cannabis friendly yoga class where I can share my passion for the plant with others. 

1. Cannabis Queen 27th Birthday Party with Top Shelf Budtending

The highlight of 2017 was my 27th birthday party organized by my mom! She decorated the party in hot pink, gold, and lime green from the “Cannabis Queen” and “Dab Queen” banners, to the “Call me Your Royal Highness” napkins and plates, the Cannabis themed selfie station – this party had it all!  

Meraki Cakes & Bakes provided an edible gold leaf, hand painted cake that was to die for – double layers of lavender and chocolate with cream cheese it was exquisite.

My mom also prepared homemade sugo (spaghetti), local meatballs and sausage, and her signature salad for all attendees to enjoy. We also offered an alcohol free party complete with faux Sangria mixed with Stillwater Brand RIPPLE for an added boost of THC without the harmful effects of alcohol.

Andrew Mieure of Top Shelf Budtending was the star of the party providing responsible social consumption at the dab bar! 

2.  Light & Lit Yoga by Greenlove Denver

In October 2017 Greenlove Denver started Light & Lit Yoga as a way to incorporate cannabis usage into one’s yoga practice. I’ve found that utilizing cannabis into meditation and breathing techniques makes it easier to drop into one’s body and mind and easier to calm down the racing mind. Cannabis is also helpful in practice as it helps the body focus more clearly on specific postures, muscles, and mindful movement. As a 200-hour Atma Yoga Instructor I specialize in Bhakti Yoga which celebrates a love for oneself. I’ve found that utilizing cannabis allows students to lower inhibitions by free flowing into dance or chanting.

Greenlove Denver has recently moved to a private residential space offering more intimate yoga classes for those looking to dive deeper into their practice while exploring the usage of cannabis in conjunction with yoga. Greenlove offers monthly sponsored yoga classes from various cannabis companies in the industry. 

This is a great way for companies to showcase their products and for students to try new edibles, smoking equipment, flower, and other canna-friendly accessories!

3. Lifestyle photos with Kenesha Facello Photography 

In September 2017 I met Kenesha Facello a local cannabis photographer at the Denver Chapter 420 Games Launch hosted by Mjfitnut. We immediately hit it off and starting discussing various photoshoots we could pursue.

As an avid yogi always looking to boost my social media presence especially on Instagram I was super excited by this opportunity. Not only did I find a friend in the industry, but Kenesha was extremely talented behind the camera! 

Not being a “model” I was a little nervous about the photos, but Kenesha made the experience very comfortable. I had the opportunity to take yoga and lifestyle photos at Red Rocks as well as a cannabis queen themed shoot in elegant gowns.

Both sets of photos were amazing and truly showcased the modern day stoner. It is our hope that these photos will help break down the common misconceptions about cannabis users.

4. Lit Yogi Apparel 

I’ve always been one for fashion and staying up on the latest trends. One of the things I noticed about cannabis apparel specifically was that it was really tacky. Not everyone wants to adorn themselves in rasta colors and 420 symbols. 

When I started Greenlove Denver I wanted to keep it simple and tasteful.

The “Yoga and Weed are all I need” was the first tank top I created for all the ladies who wanted to showcase this pairing in class. 

While I loved the tank, I found it was a little too flashy and decided to tone it down a bit for the next clothing drop.

The “Lit Yogi” tank was created in the heather green tank and it was exactly what I had envisioned! A modern design, comfortable, soft material while still showcasing one’s love for yoga and weed. 

I followed up the women’s tank with the same logo in the men’s tank in a summery-turquoise shade perfect for working out in or practicing yoga. 

As the summer months faded I knew I wanted to create a long sleeve in a gender neutral design.

In December 2017 I launched a forest green long sleeve with another modern design including Greenlove’s logo and a hand holding a joint. 

I’ve decided to create each of these designs in limited quantities to preserve their authenticity.

5. Cannabis Industry Events 

What a year it was for Greenlove Denver – I was able to participate in so many unique events over the last eight months – Some of the highlights of the year included: 

Grand Opening of the International Church of Cannabis – a cannabis friendly church where all religions and spirituality’s can join together under one roof and utilize plant medicine to dive deeper into their beliefs.

The nonprofit also offers donation based yoga classes by Yoga on the Green- Denver, a Christmas Craft Fair, and various musical entertainment and guest speakers at their Friday night ceremonies.

420 Games Denver – an event for motivated cannabis athletes to showcase that they are not just “lazy stoners” participating in a 4.20 mile run/walk.

I was able to connect with some amazing like-minded companies such as Stay Ripped Apparel who focus on utilizing cannabis for weightlifting and showcase their love for the plant through their clothing line.

Sensi Night Denver, SoCO – a networking event for those in the cannabis industry. A great way to meet new companies in the industry and learn about what everyone has to offer. Each event is different and the companies always vary!

The Cannabis Business Awards – an upscale night mimicking an award show complete with a red carpet celebrating the trailblazers in the industry.

Perhaps one day Greenlove Denver will make the list! 

I cannot wait to see what 2018 has in store for Greenlove Denver. The only place to go is UP!
