“Stoners are lazy” – We’ve all heard that, but it could not be farther from the truth.
With over 29 states legalizing marijuana to some degree the tides have turned and consuming cannabis has become more mainstream. As a result we are starting to see common misconceptions about pot users die.
Today there are successful business people, entrepreneurs, athletes, creators, and countless other people turning to cannabis for medical and recreational purposes.
The 420 Games Denver was an event created to showcase cannabis users and how the plant has assisted them in living a healthier lifestyle.
420 Games – Denver
On Saturday, July 22, I had the pleasure of attending the 420 Games – “an event created to show that users are NOT lazy, unmotivated, or “stoners” and to de-stigmatize the millions who use cannabis in a healthy and responsible lifestyle.”

BMX Riders
The games consisted of a 4.20 mile run around Berekely Lake Park, a kickball tournament with Denver Bronco’s Charlie Adams, Tatum Bell, and Reuben Droughns, various BMX riders, and a morning yoga class.
MJFitNut, sponsored cannabis athlete, Heather DeRose placed first place in her hometown event!
Heather has been committed to attending all of the 420 Games around the U.S. placing 3rd in Seattle, 2nd in Portland, and I’m sure to place in San Francisco in August.
It is truly inspiring to see how athletes are incorporating cannabis use and a healthy lifestyle to push their bodies to new limits. This event was important to showcase to the public that cannabis consumption does not deter one from being physically fit, in fact it does the complete opposite.
No matter your level of fitness all were welcome to participate in the events. It was truly inspiring to see all different types of people, various ages, interests, and demographics all coming together to celebrate and de-stigmatize the power of marijuana.

Stay Ripped Apparel.
After the race participants were invited to check out the various vendors including Get Lit Get Fit (Texas) and Stay Ripped Apparel (Chicago) two startup companies focusing on cannabis inspired apparel.
Since starting Greenlove Denver it has been very eye opening to see people with varying interests in the industry to come together for the power of the plant.
Each and every one of us truly believe in the benefits of cannabis and how choosing a plant over prescription drugs can work wonders on the body and mind.
Continuing to de-stigmatize common misconceptions about marijuana through events such as the 420 Games is how we break down these barriers.
Trailblazers, entrepreneurs, and like-minded people must continue to band together to as states continue to legalize marijuana with hopes of federal regulation in the future.
