Recently, I had the opportunity to try out a CBD Gua Sha Facial in Denver, CO at Color Up Therapeutics by Ashley Deckard of a.d. esthetics. Gua Sha facials have become all the rage online lately, with many Influencers promoting the benefits of this ancient practice. Having never tried a facial before I was intrigued to try out the CBD Gua Sha Facial.

Ashley greeted me in her space by asking more about my skincare regimen and what I expected from the facial. As someone who’s never had a facial, and is prone to tense facial muscles I was excited to let Ashley work her magic!
Throughout the facial Ashley explained the benefits of CBD gua sha facial from anti-inflammatory benefits, reducing puffiness and redness and lymphatic draining. When she began to use the gua sha stone we discussed whether it was important to have a specific stone such as rose quartz or jade. Ashley concluded that the tool isn’t as important as the technique which is great advice for at-home self care!
Ashley offered a really amazing neck massage halfway through the facial with the gua sha tool that I could feel was getting deep into the tissue and promoting lymphatic draining. She used similar techniques to massage my face with the tool applying various Color Up products throughout the facial.
What I loved about the CBD gua sha facial at Color Up was that you could purchase any of the products used immediately after the facial. Having already used Color Up’s CBD facial cleanser and moisturizer it was fun to try out some other products that I could add to my collection. Ashley finished up the facial with a lovely mist leaving my face feeling fresh with an oh so amazing glow! I could quickly see from the before and after photo that the amount of inflammation and puffiness in my face had drastically decreased after the facial.
Since this was my first facial and first CBD gua sha facial I wasn’t sure what to expect, but after having enjoyed this experience I would have to say I would definitely come back. Ashley was a true master of her trade which was expressed through her facial techniques.
